Benito’s Taco Shop (Mi Otro Hogar)

It’s a friendly, if compulsive, cycle now: they bulk up our burritos with extra potatoes and guacamole, we keep coming back. Sometimes we’re the first customers of the day, sometimes we’re of the last looking for a 4 a.m. salsa fix. I could drink their salsa from a Big Gulp cup.
Writing about BTS burritos has been long overdue, mainly because I grew up on Mexican food, and this place is the only burrito place that I vouch for. Other burritos make me sad about being a vegetarian, but these are unbelievably holy, blessed by the patron saints of tastebuds, and will be the only reason I stay on the West Side when I grow weary of Santa Monica’s modest night life. This is a fact.
If you say otherwise, I really will be inclined to pity you and never trust your opinions on anything ever again. I am thinking of a few people right now (each from the South), and I am still shaking my head.
