Today I activated my old first generation iPhone. This old iPhone was my chief source of happiness until one day it accidentally rebooted itself (I accidentally rebooted it). I had only meant to punish it for dropping many calls and rejecting my head phones, but all of my precious data and multitude of wonderful apps—which, I should add, I didn’t have to pay for— perished in all of the confusion. It has taken me a year and two months to recover. But I’ve finally convinced myself to forgive and forget. In doing so, I must bid farewell to my old British LG, the one that has served me so well with a camera that snaps better pics than my Olympus. I will miss all the infuriating and often comical moments I experienced trying to charge this phone with a cheap American adapter to its UK plug. Good bye, Nigel. You will be missed.
